# OBS Replacement Migration

> Moving from legacy desktop workflows into browser-native operations

<Info>
  [555stream](/555stream) is the recommended path for new creators. This migration guide is for existing OBS users transitioning to the browser-native studio.
</Info>

## When to Migrate

* Need lower latency and simpler operations
* Desire web-native control without desktop encoders
* Want integrated token-gated and on-chain features

## Parity & Differences

| Capability   | OBS             | 555stream                    |
| ------------ | --------------- | ---------------------------- |
| Scenes       | Yes             | Themes/Overlays (web)        |
| Plugins      | Desktop plugins | Web modules & SDK            |
| Latency      | Varies          | Low-latency regional servers |
| Token Gating | External        | Native (\$555)               |

## Migration Steps

1. Create matching theme/overlays in CTRL
2. Set region for low-latency server
3. Connect wallet and assign moderator roles
4. Publish overlays and verify render
5. Switch ingest to 555stream (native) or keep OBS Browser Source temporarily

## Browser Source Fallback (Temporary)

```bash theme={null}
# OBS Browser Source
# URL: https://rndrntwrk.com/overlay
# Size: 1920x1080; Shutdown when not visible
```

## Performance Tips

* Prefer native 555stream for lower latency
* Match bitrate/resolution to regional limits
* Monitor ingest health and frame drops
